In the Pre-school Room more emphasis is placed on activities that will help to prepare the child for school and its new social, emotional and academic challenges. There are frequent field trips and a greater emphasis placed on academic curriculum, although much of the learning and development taking place is still based on experience, and you can certainly find other programs that are more heavily focused on academics.

We have gone directly to kindergarten teachers and asked them what skills they expect and want a child coming in to their class to have, and have incorporated their expectations in to our program. The Preschool program provides ample opportunity for exploration and interaction with peers, adults and nature. The Storybook Journey curriculum is fully implemented in the pre-school program.
