At Boulder Day Nursery, tuition fees are determined on a sliding scale based on a family’s gross income. At time of admission in the program, parents are required to fill out an Income Eligibility Form (IEF) and declare income. Completing the yearly IEF is a prerequisite for admission not only to determine (and, to adjust) tuition fee but this form is also a mandatory audited requirement for schools that participate in the Colorado Food Program. This program subsidizes a percentage of the over-all food expense for Boulder Day Nursery.

Billing statements are sent to parents on the 20th of each month. Parents can either pick up the statements from their child’s classroom file, or the statement can be e-mailed if prior arrangements have been made with the bookkeeping office. Invoicing of tuition fee is done by statement so that payments are reflected each month and can be used as proof of payment to your company’s FSA (flex spending account) reimbursement for child care expense.

Tuition payments are expected by the 7th of each month unless prior arrangements have been made with the bookkeeping office. Boulder Day Nursery reserves the right to assess $20.00 if payments are not received by the 7th of the month. Tuition payment checks are to be place in the bookkeeper’s mail box in the main hallway (black mail box hanging outside the infant / pre-toddler hallway doors).

Tuition payments may also be paid on-line using a credit card. This payment option is new starting in 2007.  This payment option is initiated per the request of parents who wish to build their credit card premiums for free travel miles and other incentives. Because this option has a direct cost to Boulder Day Nursery, parents choosing this payment option will be charged an extra 3% to their tuition fee. Parents will set up an on-line payment account with the banking service information provided by Boulder Day Nursery. If parents choose to only use this option on occasion, and therefore the tuition billing does not reflect the 3% service fee, the service fee will be added to the next month’s billing as a separate line item.

If for reasons such as sudden job loss, and your family is experiencing financial hardship, please feel free to communicate with the Program Director about changes to your IEF and possible tuition adjustment per Boulder Day Nursery’s sliding scale.
