To mark the beginning of this years’ 90th Anniversary celebration, Boulder Day Nursery has printed 250 commemorative posters of this beautiful lithograph by Dutch artist, Bernhardus Johannes Blommers. This J.B. Blommers lithograph has been a symbol of the heart-essence of Boulder Day Nursery for decades.

In our research preparing this brochure, we found a handwritten note in an original Board member’s journal that identifies the donation of the J.B. Blommers’ print. In August 1932, Ms. Laurel Foster donated the framed lithograph to beautify the Matron’s room. This year we took the wood backing off the lithograph with the intention of determining what was needed to preserve the print for future generations of Boulder Day Nursery families. To our astonishment we discovered that the newspaper behind the print was dated July 1911.

Please join us in this year of celebrating Boulder Day Nursery’s 90th Anniversary by buying a commemorative poster. Proceeds of the sale will help raise money for Boulder Day Nursery’s family events and broader community-based fund raising events. Our fund raising events will be used to build community awareness of Boulder Day Nursery’s mission and commitment to quality child care and sliding-scale fee for lower-income families
